Show Profile: The Art Of Rap

Impact was approached by our long time client Live Nation Bay Area to provide a unique lighting design for their upcoming Art of Rap festival. The lighting design not only had to be visually interesting and inspiring, but it also had to be functional for lighting the stage.  Above all when designing a festival the lighting has to be flexible to accommodate the needs of all of the acts.   Impact developed a versatile intelligent lighting rig by designing a series of trusses in a unique configuration.  With this we had the starting point to an interesting design.  Next, utilizing Impact’s in house inventory of Chauvet Nexus 4×4 LED panels, Martin Mac Viper fixtures and Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures Impact determined fixture placement in a manner that gave the lighting a compelling look.    Finally to ensure a smooth load in as well as show a visual to the client, Impact’s design team produced a series of renderings.  These renderings allowed Impact to carefully evaluate the design and work out the details far before the load in day. And when the show day finally did roll around the carefully designed lighting proved to be a pivotal element of a successful show!  Thanks to Live Nation Bay Area!
